El parque de la Ciudadela

Ubicado en el barrio de Ciudad Vella, dispone de 10 accesos y tiene una extensión de 17,42 hectáreas. En este se ubica el antiguo arsenal de la Ciudadela, actualmente es considerado uno de los parque más extensos y dentro de su recinto se sitúa el zoo de Barcelona. Tiene una gran extensión ajardinada y varias zonas para pasear.

El lago es uno de los centros neurálgicos del parque con varios islotes, considerados como uno de los parques con más vida de la ciudad y tiene unas amplias zonas de descanso, por lo cual tiene mucha vida. En el recorrido por este encontraras también el zoológico que esta situado aquí mismo y sobre el césped siempre hay grupos de jóvenes tocando la guitarra o practicando yoga, también a quienes les gusta caminar o pasear en bicicleta, y gente que le gusta leer sentadas en los bancos.

El parque de la Ciudadela es muy rico en vegetación, en este son abundantes los tilos, las magnolias y diferentes especies más, y a su alrededor una gran cantidad de pájaros en el que se incluyen más de 100 diferentes especies que lo visitan. Es considerado un lugar de arte al aire libre, en 1951 lo declararon monumento histórico artístico, ya que en el se encuentran obras de Frederick Mares , Eusebi Arnau y muchas otras más. En este se sitúan el zoo de Barcelona también edificaciones que siguen de la antigua fortaleza, como el palacio del gobernador y el arsenal y de la Exposición de 1888 Umbráculo, Hivernáculo, Museo de Geología, Museo de Zoología.

En el lugar hay una cascada monumental esta fue diseñada por Josep Fontseré y tuvo como su ayudante a Antoni Gaudí. En ambos lados están situadas unas escaleras donde se puede contemplar una vista privilegiada del parque. La parte de la cascada fue decorada por varios elementos escultóricos de artistas catalanes y en el centro se puede contemplar el nacimiento de venus, la cuadriga de aurora y abajo cuatro grifos que protegen a venus, obra de Rafael atche.

Horario de 10 am hasta el atardecer. Para que puedas disfrutar de estos y muchos lugares más que se encuentran cerca de la zona como el Museo de chocolate,  Museo de Picasso,  Basílica de Santa María del mar, Museo Europeo de Arte Moderno.

My experience living in Barcelona

I would like to share my experiences that had occurred so far, it started in the beginning of February when I heard that I am accepted for a placement for a duration of 6 months, I was thrilled knowing I would be doing my internship in Barcelona. I have done some research in terms of obtaining a decent flat or apartment for long term rentals, and I have stumbled into many interesting but unfortunately also into many (short term rentals) that weren't capable. When I finally found something interesting in that short matter I was content and ready for a new adventure in a new city.
